The hat. On the second day of the trip I started to decorate the hat with wildflowers that grew along the Camino.

This was the decoration at it’s height I believe – after a week or so. In the end, I’m glad I took the photo because the last week of rain destroyed what little had survived and dried well. I think all I have left is the foxtale and a pitifully battered thistle. I also went along making flower chains when I was walking alone. It became therapeutic, because it forced me to go slower – which during these days was important cuz my feet hurt a lot, and the constant stopping, breaking rhythm, helped a bit. Anywho, the hat’s all crazy deformed now from getting wet, but it was a fun art project.
